Mastermind Cognitive Training · Ed-Tech Brand, Site & Growth Foundation
Mastermind needed a brand and a roughly 30-page site sophisticated enough for the education buyer, grounded in research and built to grow on. The work delivered all three: the brand, the site, and the growth foundation beneath it, search and AI visibility, accessibility, and speed, ready for what comes next.
The Brief
The education buyer is a hard room. Principals, districts, and central-office administrators apply a higher standard of proof, with a procurement process to match. Mastermind needed a brand and a site that could stand in front of them and hold up.
It was also planting a flag in a category that barely exists yet, learning readiness, with no established search demand and no competitor owning the term. The ask was a brand and a roughly 30-page site that carried the research into that space, earned the buyer's trust, and could be run on HubSpot and grown after launch.
The Research
385
Keywords tested and SERP-checked across five audience segments
Source Moz keyword analysis, with a manual results-page check on every lead term
11
Competitors profiled across two frameworks to map the open ground
Source An 11-dimension competitive matrix and a commissioned market analysis
20+
Studies read in full, from Mastermind's clinical trial to the external base
Source Peer-reviewed and preprint papers, read in full and logged with citations
Every decision that followed, the positioning, the brand, the page priorities, traced back to something measured: what buyers actually search, where competitors left room, and what the science could and could not claim. Nothing rested on preference.

The Brand
69%
of elementary principals are women
78%
of central-office administrators are women
Those buyers skew heavily female, while the athletics and public-service side skews male. One brand had to hold both.
The research pointed away from both extremes. Less saturated, lighter design reads as more competent and crosses buyer types better than a dark, punchy look. So the new brand is warm and light on an indigo anchor, information-forward and neutral by design, made to hold a principal and a performance coach at the same time.

Ed-tech buyers reject a voice that talks down to them or implies their students need rescuing. So the copy never puts the shortfall on the child. What it names instead is that these skills have been hard to measure at scale and hard to train inside the school day, which is a statement about the tools, not the kids.
It also drops the language administrators have learned to tune out. “Evidence-based” is gone; a claim is labeled for exactly what it is, so the registered trial appears as “independently studied” and nothing borrows credibility it has not earned.

The Site, In Use
01 · Homepage
A homepage that leads with the science, not the hype — light and warm on an indigo anchor, built to hold a principal and a performance coach at the same time.

02 · The Profile
The Learning Readiness Profile turns raw cognitive testing into a picture a teacher can actually use — with teal reserved for real data and nothing else.

03 · What To Do
Where to start, what helps, what to avoid. The report ends in guidance the classroom can act on, not just a score.
The Claims
Mastermind's registered controlled trial found real gains in attention and eye-tracking, and no significant change in reading or math fluency. That honesty set the rule: the academic-growth figures the site does show are pooled program results, tagged by source and never pinned to the trial that found those same measures non-significant.
So the registered trial appears as “independently studied,” the one peer-reviewed result anchors its own story, and nothing borrows credibility it has not earned.

The Foundation
The brand is what a buyer sees first. The foundation is what makes the site get found, clear procurement, and keep performing after launch, the layer most design projects skip.
01
Built for how buyers search now, including AI answers, where there is no position one, only cited or invisible. Answer-first pages, FAQ schema, and one SERP-checked keyword each, aimed at a category with no established demand yet.
02
Built and audited to WCAG 2.2 AA with both automated and manual testing, so the site clears the accessibility review that school districts and institutional buyers now run before they sign.
03
The old site took about sixteen seconds to load on the phones most of its audience used. The rebuild was engineered for a fast first paint, so the research behind the site is not lost waiting for it to appear.
Built on HubSpot so Mastermind’s own team can run it without breaking the design, and migrated off the old site with its search rankings intact. Nothing went live until the client signed off.

The Process
The foundation. A clear read on where a brand stands today and where its strongest opportunities are.
The direction. Research becomes a focused vision, shaped into a few distinct concepts worth building.
Where it comes to life. The chosen direction becomes a real, detailed design, considered at every touchpoint.
The build. Design becomes something that works, built to perform as well as it looks.
Live. Everything goes out into the world, ready to perform and built to grow.
